- information about how you use our website and customer portal, including your IP address, approximate location, browser, device, pages viewed and interactions with the website; and
- other information you choose to give us or that we are required or authorised to collect by law.
We do not generally seek sensitive information. Please do not provide sensitive information unless it is reasonably necessary and we have requested it or you have otherwise consented to its collection.
If you provide information about another person, including in a plan, drawing, photograph or account application, you must be authorised to provide that information and should make the person aware of this policy where appropriate.
How we collect personal information
We may collect personal information:
- directly from you when you contact us, request a quote, open an account, place an order, upload a file, subscribe to marketing or communicate with us;

- from payment, delivery, technology and other service providers acting on our behalf;
- from publicly available business registers or directories when we need to verify trade or business information; and
- where otherwise required or authorised by law.
Where practicable, you may deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym. However, we will normally need accurate identifying and contact information to provide quotes, establish an account, process and deliver an order, provide warranty support or comply with legal obligations.
Why we collect and use personal information
We collect, hold, use and disclose personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and provide customer support;
- prepare quotes and project information;
- establish and administer customer and trade accounts;
- manufacture, process, supply and deliver orders;
- process payments, invoices, refunds and account records;

If you do not provide information that we reasonably require, we may not be able to respond to your enquiry, provide an accurate quote, open or administer an account, process an order or provide the requested product or service.
Customer portal and automated tools
Our customer portal is provided by Cabinetry.Online and is used for account registration, sign-in, quoting, project configuration and ordering. Information entered into the portal may be collected on our behalf and made available to us so that we can provide our products and services.
Automated tools may be used to calculate prices or prepare quotes based on product selections, measurements and account type. We do not currently arrange for computer programs to use personal information to make decisions that could reasonably be expected to significantly affect a person’s rights or interests. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide the information required by applicable Australian privacy law.
Marketing communications
Marketing is optional. You can make an enquiry, open an account or place an order without agreeing to receive marketing communications.
Where you choose to receive marketing emails, we may record:
- your email address;
- the consent wording shown to you;
- where and when you gave consent;
- confirmation of your subscription;
- relevant technical information associated with the consent; and
- when you changed your preferences or unsubscribed.
We may use Klaviyo to manage subscriptions and send marketing emails. We may send you an email asking you to confirm your subscription before adding you to our active marketing list.
Our marketing messages will identify Cut by BEES Pty Ltd, contain our contact details and provide a clear and functional unsubscribe facility. We will action unsubscribe requests promptly and no later than five working days after receiving them. You will not be required to log in, create an account or pay a fee to unsubscribe.
You can also unsubscribe by contacting info@cutbybees.com.au.
Unsubscribing from marketing will not prevent us from sending necessary service communications about your account, quote, order, delivery, security or an existing transaction.
We may retain a minimal suppression record after you unsubscribe so that we can respect your request and demonstrate compliance with applicable law.
We do not currently send SMS marketing. If we introduce SMS marketing, we will obtain any consent required by law and provide a functional opt-out facility.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure our website, remember preferences, understand website use and measure advertising.
These technologies may collect information such as:
- IP address and approximate location;
- device, browser and operating-system information;
- unique cookie or device identifiers;
- referring pages and website interactions;
- pages viewed and actions taken; and

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. We also use the Meta Pixel to measure advertising performance and understand actions taken after a person sees or interacts with an advertisement.
Google and Meta may collect or receive information through these technologies and handle it in accordance with their own privacy policies. Depending on your settings and use of their services, they may associate information about your visit with other information they hold.
You can block or delete cookies using your browser settings and can use the privacy, advertising and opt-out controls provided by Google, Facebook and Instagram. Blocking all cookies may affect how parts of our website operate.
We will not intentionally place names, email addresses, telephone numbers or other directly identifying contact information in analytics or advertising event data unless we have an appropriate legal basis and have clearly disclosed the practice.

Overseas processing and disclosure
Although we sell only within Australia, some of our technology and service providers store or process personal information outside Australia.
Personal information may be disclosed to, stored in or accessed from the United States, Singapore, Ireland and the United Kingdom. Information may also be processed in other countries in which Google, Meta and their approved service providers operate.
For example, Klaviyo stores customer data in the United States. Google, Meta and other cloud or technology providers may process information through infrastructure located in several countries.
Where Australian privacy law requires it, we take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. These steps may include reviewing providers’ privacy and security practices and using contractual protections.
Overseas recipients may be subject to the laws of the country in which they operate.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
These steps may include restricting access to people who require it for their work, using access-controlled systems, applying authentication and security controls, keeping systems updated and selecting reputable service providers.
No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. If an eligible data breach occurs, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
How long we retain personal information
We retain personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, to operate our business or to meet legal, accounting, taxation, insurance and dispute-resolution requirements.
In general:
- financial, invoice and transaction records may be retained for at least seven years where required for company, taxation or accounting purposes;
- account, order, delivery and warranty information may be retained while the account or customer relationship remains active and afterwards for an appropriate legal and business period;
- enquiries that do not result in an account or transaction are retained only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, follow up and manage potential disputes;
- marketing information is retained while you remain subscribed;
- after you unsubscribe, we may retain a minimal suppression and consent record for as long as reasonably necessary to respect and demonstrate your choice; and
- technical, security, cookie and analytics information is retained according to our operational requirements and the applicable service-provider settings.
When personal information is no longer needed and we are not legally required or authorised to retain it, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it. Information may remain in secure backups until those backups are overwritten in the ordinary course of business.
Access, correction and deletion requests
You may ask us to:
- give you access to personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading; or
- delete or de-identify information where we are legally and operationally able to do so.
Send your request to info@cutbybees.com.au or contact us using the details at the beginning of this policy. No special form is required.
We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within a reasonable period, usually within 30 days.
Australian law permits us to refuse access, correction or deletion in some circumstances. For example, we may need to retain records to complete an order, comply with a legal obligation, resolve a dispute, prevent fraud or protect another person’s privacy. If we refuse a request, we will explain the reason where required and tell you how you may complain.
We do not charge a fee for making an access or correction request. If a reasonable charge is necessary to provide access, we will tell you in advance.
